What to Do After the Conference
The Content Marketing Institute has gathered tips from past Content Marketing World presenters on how association professionals can overcome "conference hangovers" each year. First, block off at least one hour the week you return to think strategically and reflect on the things that will have the biggest impact on your content strategy and your organization moving forward. It's also a good rule of thumb to schedule another hour a month or two later to review your conference notes and re-watch favorite sessions to be reminded of the things you wanted to accomplish on your return. For maximum clarity, consider putting your notes from the conference in a shareable file so all team members are on the same page. When implementing a content strategy or other plan of action, pull out items from those notes that your team can implement, one, right away, and, two, in the next six to 12 months. The Institute concludes, "As you break the conference content overload into manageable pieces, don't forget to think" -- i.e., reflect on your own and discuss with colleagues what advice will best serve your association's content marketing strategy.
