Use a Content Calendar to Engage Members in 2019
Associations Now senior editor Tim Ebner urges association leaders to take a page from journalists and put together a content calendar now to plan for member engagements throughout 2019. Working off such a calendar, it's possible to schedule editorial content, e-mail, social media campaigns, and more to coincide weeks, months, or even a year in advance. Also recommended are quick brainstorming sessions in which participants are invited to write down as many content and story ideas as possible -- a process that helps to avoid groupthink. Keep in mind that a content calendar should not focus entirely on generating new content pieces. Also look at existing, so-called "evergreen" materials that can be refreshed and republished.
